A 10-year age difference between municipalities

Comparing Asao Ward, Kawasaki City, which has the longest average life expectancy, and Nishinari Ward, Osaka City, which has the shortest life expectancy, there is a difference of 4.2 years for women, but a difference of 10.8 years for men. The materials released by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare do not analyze why such a difference arises.
However, Kawasaki City’s Asao Ward is in the Tama hills, with many slopes and parks. According to an article in the Tokyo Shimbun, “Health and behavior are affected by the surrounding environment” “In areas with abundant trains and buses, people tend to walk rather than rely on cars” and ”In areas with lots of parks and greenery,” Professor Katsunori Kondo, Department of Social Preventive Medicine, Chiba University Center for Preventive Medicine said, “It is suggested that people who live there have a low rate of depression and that it has an impact on their mental health.” How do you feel about the area where you live?
